Employee Spotlight: Harry Beech
February 19, 2024What made you choose Sonic Minds as an employer specifically?
One of the first things that attracted me to Sonic Minds was their selection of past works on the website. I was eager to learn more about audio branding, I found Sonic Minds a great source for info. When I was then looking for an audio branding agency they immediately stood out as a front runner in the Nordics and someone I wanted to collaborate with.
What are some of your hobbies?
I really enjoy my work so most of my hobbies are more about downtime and relaxing. I enjoy going for walks with my dog, cooking, reading and quiet evenings at home.
Who is your inspiration?
I don’t feel like I have one person who is my inspiration, it’s a variety of different people who inspire me for different reasons. Just in music I’ll get inspired by Charlie Haden but also Action Bronson and countless others. I think it’s important to take in as much as I can and then try to find inspiration in it.
How would you describe your musical past?
I started music at a very young age and was playing classical music in my youth. I then went on to study jazz performance at a conservatoire in the UK. This gave me a great foundation for most areas of music, I’ve been working in music for the last 9 years as a performer. Then four years ago I started focusing more on the production of music and sound and this led me to the concept of Audio Branding.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
I can’t think of one piece of advice right now, but I would say that I feel like I have gained a lot in terms of morals and life skills from my family and upbringing. Whilst also having some amazing and inspiring teachers who pushed me and helped guide me through my musical journey, inspiring me to be where I am today.
How would you describe your profession?
I would like to think that above all I’m someone who lives and breathes sound, but when people ask I’ll mostly say I work with music.
What are you most looking forward to work-wise?
I’m most looking forward to learning more about the full process of creating an audio brand, from meeting with clients all the way to the final product. Of course the creative side is really exciting but I’m also looking forward to overseeing projects and guiding clients to see and understand the value that audio can bring. I want to get people as excited about audio as I am.
What is your greatest strength?
I want to say my vision, passion and excitement for a project. I really enjoy getting my teeth into a large project and working to achieve the end goal.
That was our interview with Harry. Until next time!
