Employee Spotlight: Søren Elsborg

What made you choose Sonic Minds as an employer specifically?
After working as a freelance musician and teacher for several years I wanted to explore other ways of using my competence. I have always been drawn to commercial branding and aesthetics so the mix between music and branding identity seems like a perfect match. Sonic Minds affect our everyday life in a way that never occurred to me before so when I realized their existence I instantly wanted to become a part of the team.

What are some of your hobbies?
Filling up my vinyl collection, playing guitar and playstation. Keeping myself healthy with fitness and ice bathing.

I like to describe myself as a facilitator, making it possible for a brand to project its initial intention and connect better with their audience.
Søren Elsborg Audio Consultant

Who is your inspiration?
It’s a mix of Flume’s electronic and innovative granular synthetic music production. Frank Ocean’s aesthetics both visually and in sound. Finally, Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys lyrical universe and overall attitude. Or just Rick Rubin.

How would you describe your musical past?
Full of mistakes, and full of unforgettable experiences.

I’ve been in a variety of bands as a guitarist and songwriter, but later in my career I got signed to a publishing company mostly working as a producer for other pop-artists, where my objective was to project the expression of the artist and the song.

I feel that my time as a music producer working with other artists will be very beneficial in my work with companies because it has evolved my ability to understand and project other people’s feelings, desires and goals.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
Whenever you opt in something, you opt out of something at the same time.

It taught me to let go and to value the things that I choose instead of wondering what could have been.

How would you describe your profession?
I like to describe myself as a facilitator, making it possible for brands to project its initial intention and connect better with their audience.

What are you most looking forward to work-wise?
I’m looking forward to creating and supporting memorable audio identities. I’m looking forward to being part of the process in creating an extra dimension to a brand and projecting them in sound.

What is your greatest strength?
My ability to interpret and communicate through sound and my positive mindset.
